Devon Prep Baseball Players Named to All Main Line Teams
Main Line Suburban Life named three Devon Prep baseball players to the 2009 All Main Line Baseball First Team. They are pitcher/outfielder Andrew Carroll, first baseman Kevin Maloney and shortstop/pitcher Ian Smith. Three others, catcher Nick Pancerella, outfielder Joe Donatoni and pitcher Alex Pachella, were named to the Second Team.
Carroll and Smith were also named to the Bicentennial Athletic League (BAL) Independence Division First Team. Donatoni and Pachella were named to the BAL Independence Division Second Team and Maloney received an Honorable Mention.
Devon Prep’s 2009 varsity baseball team, with a 14-7 record, made it to the PIAA District One finals and earned more wins than any TIDE baseball team in the past 14 years. Coach Mark Aquilante was also named BAL Independence Division Coach of the Year.
