Ellen Ryan is a middle school social studies and math teacher at Devon Prep. She has taught middle school math, history, geography, and economics courses for the past twelve years at schools in Newark, DE and Wayne, PA. Ellen earned her Bachelor’s Degree in secondary education from Penn State University and later earned a Master’s in Education from West Chester University.  In addition to holding her Pennsylvania Instructional II Teaching Certification in Social Studies 7-12, Ellen is a state-certified Reading Specialist. She is passionate about instilling the values of patriotism and civic responsibility in her students. Ellen currently lives in Swarthmore with her husband and three young children.
