Chris Irving is Coordinator of Professional Development and Seventh Grade Coordinator. A member of the English Department, Chris has taught courses ranging from Language Arts I to American Literature since he began at Devon Prep in 2019. He sponsors the Middle School Reading Olympics team and is coach of the Middle School Cross Country team.

Between his time at Devon and in Baltimore and Philadelphia charter schools, Chris has over a decade of experience working with middle and high school students in a number of classroom and administrative roles. He graduated cum laude with a B.A. in Communication from Villanova University then earned a dual M.Ed. from Lesley University in Elementary (1-6) and Special Education (PK-8). In addition to holding his Pennsylvania Instructional II Teaching Certification in Language Arts 7-12, Chris is a state-certified Reading Specialist.
