Samantha Desch is the English Department Chair for Devon Prep. She has been teaching in the classroom for the last 13 years, both with public and private school experience. Samantha received her Bachelor’s in English Education from Penn State University, as well as her Master’s in Transformative Education from West Chester University. She is currently working on her second Master’s at St. Joseph’s University to become a Mental Health Therapist. 

Samantha has taught both at the middle school and high school level in a variety of classes including 7th grade Language Arts, 8th grade Language Arts, Literature around the World, British Literature, AP Language and Composition, as well as various other upper level English electives. Additionally, she is the advisor to the Devon Dialogue, the school newspaper. When not in the classroom, Samantha is known as “Sunshine Sam” to the staff, planning celebratory and morale-boosting events for her colleagues. She currently lives in Philadelphia with her fur son, Rory.
