  • 6th Grade Retreat
    • The 6th Grade Retreat, themed “Who Are We?” invites students to explore what it means to be a part of a community and live by shared values as they begin their journey at Devon.  This retreat focuses on the Piarist values of charity, patience, humility, community, and honesty.  Through interactive activities and discussions, students reflect on how these values guide their actions and shape their relationships with others.  They learn that charity means showing kindness and generosity to those in need, patience means being understanding and taking time to grow, humility involves appreciating others and keeping a sense of gratitude, community means supporting each other, and honesty is about always striving to be truthful.  The retreat fosters a sense of belonging, helping students understand that to be a Devon student means to live these values both within and beyond school.  By connecting with classmates and sharing experiences, they begin to see themselves as a part of a larger community united by respect, empathy, and a shared purpose, ready to embody the Piarist values as they grow together.
  • 7th Grade Retreat
    • The 7th Grade Retreat, themed “Building Resilience of Character, “ encourages students to develop inner strength and adaptability as they navigate challenges and grow.  This retreat focuses on helping students understand resilience as a key part pof character – how to persevere through tough difficulties, learn from setbacks, and stay committed to their values.  Through engaging activities and guided discussion, students reflect on what it means to face obstacles with courage and to support each other in moments of struggle.  They learn that resilience is not about avoiding challenges but about growing strong and wiser through them.  The retreat also fosters absence of unity and trust, as students share experiences and encourage one another to be courageous and determined. By exploring resilience from a faith-based perspective they see how spirituality can be a source of strength and guidance.  The retreat empowers students with the mindset and skills to face future challenges with convenience, resilience, and a commitment to building strong, supportive character.
  • 8th Grade Retreat
    • The 8th Grade Retreat, centered around the theme of “Accountability,” encourages students to explore the importance of responsibility, integrity, and trust as they prepare for high school. This retreat emphasizes personal accountability – how our actions affect not only ourselves but also our relationships and community.  Through activities and discussions, students reflect on the value of taking ownership of their choices and commitments.  They learn how accountability strengthens relationships, fosters trust, and helps build a strong sense of character.  The retreat also creates a supportive environment where students are encouraged to hold themselves and each other to high standards, creating a foundation of mutual respect and encouragement.  A spiritual dimension invites students to reflect on how their faith can guide them in making responsible choices and staying true to their values.  As students connect with one another, they leave the retreat with a deeper sense of responsibility to themselves, their peers, and their faith community ready to embrace the challenges and responsibilities of high school.
  • 9th Grade Retreat
    • The Freshmen Retreat, themed “Who Am I” focuses on self-discovery and respect, encouraging students to reflect on personal values while appreciating the unique qualities of their peers. This retreat emphasizes the value of community, guiding students to explore their identity, values, and goals.  They gain a deeper respect for the gifted and talents of others, fostering a culture of understanding and diversity.  The retreat also encourages gratitude for each person’s strengths and promotes hope in facing personal challenges. By engaging in shared activities, students build meaningful bonds with their classmates, establishing a foundation of mutual support.  Additionally, the retreat nurtures spiritual growth, inviting students to strengthen their relationship with God as they develop in both faith and character. Together, these elements help students gain insight into themselves, build respect for one another, and foster a lasting sense of unity and spiritual growth.
  • 10th Grade Retreat
    • The Sophomore Retreat, themed “Honesty with Self,” invites students to reflect deeply on their personal growth, helping them cultivate self-awareness and authenticity.  This retreat emphasizes the importance of honesty in understanding one’s strengths, challenges, and aspirations.  Students are encouraged to embrace their true selves while acknowledging areas where they can grow, creating a foundation for personal integrity.  Through activities and discussions, they learn to appreciate both their unique qualities and the value of honest reflection in building stronger connections with others.  The retreat also fosters a supportive environment where students can share openly with their peers, developing trust and empathy within the class.  By exploring the spiritual dimension of self-honesty, students are invited to deepen their faith and relationship with God, understanding the truth and authenticity are integral to a meaningful spiritual journey. Together, these elements encourage students to become more self-aware, fostering a sense of integrity, community, and a commitment to genuine relationships with themselves, their peers, and God.
  • 11th Grade Retreat
    • The Junior Retreat, themed “What Do You Value,”  encourages students to explore the core beliefs and principles that shape their lives.  This retreat focuses on self-exploration and encourages steins to reflect on what they truly value, whether it be relationships, integrity, achievement, and/or spirituality.  Through guided activities, students are prompted to examine how their values influence their decisions and goals. Helping them clarify what matters most as they prepare for the future.  BY sharing openly with their peers, students gain insight into each other’s values, strengthening bonds and fostering a culture of respect and empathy within the group.  The retreat also provides a spiritual dimension, inviting students to consider how their faith can guide and reinforce their values, offering direction and purpose This reflection on personal and spiritual values supports students in becoming more intentional and grounded, reinforcing a commitment to live authentically and with purpose as they approach their senior and beyond.
  • Kairos Retreat (12th Grade)
    • The Senior Kairos Retreat offers students a profound experience of reflection, connection, and faith as they approach the end of their high school journey.  Centered on the theme of “God’s Time,”  the retreat invited seniors to step back from daily routines and consider how God’s presence has shaped their lives and relationships.  THrough guided activities, personal reflection, and heartfelt sharing, students deepen their understanding of themselves and their faith, gaining a new appreciation for the people who have impacted their journey.  The Kairos experience emphasizes the importance of trust, vulnerability, and empathy, fostering a sense of unity and support within the group.  As students listen to one another, they build lasting bonds and discover the power of community grounded in shared experiences and openness.  This retreat serves as a capstone to their high school experience, encouraging them to carry forward the lessons of Kairos – faith, love, and authenticity – as they prepare to transition into the next chapter of their lives.
