Welcome to the College Counseling Department!

Upon entering Devon Prep, students are continuing to develop personal motivation to succeed so they may go to the college of their choice. Our curriculum is structured, yet also offers extensive elective offerings, so that every graduate will meet course requirements at colleges and universities throughout the United States. The College Counseling Program has enjoyed considerable success. 100% of our graduates continue their education at an institution of higher level learning.

College Counseling is available to all students, regardless of grade. However, the formal program begins in Junior year of High School. Juniors and Seniors are invited to participate in the College Visit Program in the fall – historically more than 90+ colleges and universities will visit Devon Prep to speak with interested students. After midterm exams, the Director of College Counseling hosts an evening information session for students and parents on the college exploration process, standardized testing programs, and the application process. At this session, families receive our college counseling handbook, designed to help the student to find his best “fit”.

From Junior year through early Senior year of High School, students will meet once per cycle in “College Counseling Seminar” classes to discuss important details in the application process to help him find his best fit.  The Director of College Counseling will meet with each Junior and his parents to customize an individualized strategy to help the student and family through the college processes.  College is an investment in his future and we are all stakeholders with his success.

COLLEGES VISITING DEVON PREP
